Seacon

The 19th World Science Fiction Convention under the name of Seacon, was held at the Hyatt House Hotel the 2nd-4th of September 1961 in Seattle, Washington. Robert A. Heinlein was the guest of honor, Harlan Ellison the toastmaster, and Wally Weber was the convention chairman. About 300 people attended the event.

Seattle in 1981 Worldcon bid

In the 1970s, a group of Seattle fans bid to host the Worldcon in 1981. The "Northwest Science Fiction Society" formed around the bid is today known for running Norwescon.

Seattle in 2002 Worldcon bid

Under the auspices of SWOC, Seattle previously bid for the 2002 Worldcon, but was obliged to withdraw the bid when facilities became unavailable; the 2002 Worldcon was ConJose in San Jose.
