About the Seattle 2011 Bid

Seattle in 2011 is a bid to host the 69th World Science Fiction Convention in the Emerald City! Cascadia fandom, under the auspices of SWOC, is bidding for the 2011 Worldcon to celebrate the golden anniversary of Seacon, the 1961 Worldcon. We plan to use the Washington State Convention and Trade Center and adjacent hotels over labor day weekend in 2011.

Welcome to Today, Yesterdays tomorrow, and a future yet to come. We will explore the possibilities, and ask ourselves “What if”. It is a unique opportunity to look forward through the eyes of such literary greats as Jules Verne, H.G. Wells to what might have been, and then to look ahead through todays great luminaries to what is a limitless future.
